From Richard Branson to Michelle Obama, even the world’s largest entrepreneurs, business executives and political leaders were young once, gaining experience as they decided how they wanted to shape the world.
At PHX Training, we believe that our young people in Cumbria have the same drive and enthusiasm to make their mark on the global stage. By joining the Centre for Leadership Performance, and its Dream Placement scheme, we are committing to supporting the county’s next young leaders get the best possible opportunities in life.
The Dream Placement scheme gives young people in Cumbria aged between 16 and 18 the opportunity to learn what it is like to run a business, having a seat at important boardroom meetings and seeing the decision making that goes into running a company.
The placement is designed to give young people a taste of the leadership opportunities available to them in the future, sparking their ambition and supporting them on a path to success in the future.
The Dream Placement scheme for 2020 is under way in earnest with a selection event, where hundreds of young people from across the region met with business leaders, including PHX, to carry out professional interviews and choose a candidate for our placement in February.
After meeting some of the young people, we left completely enthused by the potential and aspiration in Cumbria’s young people. The opportunity to help support and shape those young minds into the county’s newest leaders is something that everybody at PHX Training is excited to be involved with in the new year.
In the upcoming leadership placement, we’re hoping that we can help show our selected student behind the scenes of running a community focused business like PHX Training. Hopefully the experience will help the young person to decide on their future, as well as providing our managers with a different opinion that will make a difference to both parties in the future.
