As the Managing Director of PHX Training, I bring over 15 years of
experience in the skills and welfare industry, having joined the company in May
2017. My primary goal is to foster an environment at PHX that empowers our
customers to enhance their skills and achieve successful futures. I am
committed to leading PHX to its fullest potential, continuously striving to
make it the premier destination for skill development and career advancement.
Outside of my professional endeavours, I cherish spending quality time
with my family, along with my beloved cats and dogs. I am an avid enthusiast of
inline skating and skiing, finding joy and relaxation in these active pursuits.
Carla Pearson, Head Of Central Services
Having embarked on my journey with PHX Training in March 2017, I bring to the table a wealth of experience garnered over 15 years in the welfare and skills sector. As the Head of Central Services, my primary objective revolves around orchestrating a seamless operation across all core services. It is my unwavering commitment to ensure that our services not only run consistently but also remain streamlined and provide unwavering support to our team members, fostering an environment conducive to continuous development.
Outside of work, I am a firm believer in the importance of work-life balance. I find immense joy and fulfilment in spending quality time with my family, additionally, I frequently enjoy leisurely walks with my two gorgeous whippets.
In summary, my journey with PHX Training is characterised by a dedication to excellence and a passion for continuous improvement. I am privileged to be part of this dynamic team and am committed to contributing towards our collective success.
Anita Dale, Head Of Lancashire
In my role as the Head of Lancashire at PHX Training, I bring forth over twenty years of dedicated experience in education and training. Throughout my journey, my belief in the pivotal role of learning has only deepened. I am profoundly convinced that learning is essential for individuals at every junction of life. When education aligns harmoniously with personal and professional aspirations, it not only amplifies job satisfaction but also nurtures personal development which is what the teams at PHX Training aspire to do with our customers.
Within PHX Training, my primary responsibility is to foster talent and cultivate a vibrant culture of learning, as I firmly believe it fosters engagement, motivation, and resilience.
Beyond my professional endeavours, my family and friends hold a special place in my heart, and I relish every moment spent with them. Additionally, I find joy in holiday adventures, and I am an avid supporter of rugby and boxing.
Julie Torrance, Head Of Cumbria
As the Head of Cumbria at PHX Training, I bring over 3 decades of experience in the customer arena. My journey started in the tourism industry which was truly remarkable, filled with adventure and growth. Upon returning to the UK I transitioned into Welfare to Work and later on to Adult Skills both of which have allowed me and my teams to make a difference to people’s lives on a daily basis. Making a positive impact and enabling people to become the best versions of themselves has remained at the heart of my career and is something I instil in my team making them feel proud and passionate about the work that we do.
At PHX the team’s shared enthusiasm for growth and excellence is evident and allows us to be the best in class educating and developing our learners and customers.
My love for travel continues to fuel my indulgence outside of work and I adore escaping to the sun as often as possible. However, the beaches around Cumbria provide the perfect retreat for my other passion of wild swimming.

Dan Scott & Jayne Scott, Co-Founders
In 2004, Dan and Jayne established PHX in Barrow, driven by their passion to see individuals thrive, particularly in enhancing their confidence and transforming their lives. In 2017, they transitioned into the roles of co-founders, maintaining an active involvement in PHX training and serving on the board.
As for hobbies, Dan thoroughly enjoys sheepdog trailing, while Jayne finds pleasure in spending time with their family and being outdoors.
