PHX Training raises over £500 for Cancer Research UK

The PHX community recently united to support Cancer Research UK, raising over £500 for the charity through various fundraising efforts, including coffee mornings, bake sales, raffles, and community events.

Across Morecambe, Preston, Barrow, and Carlisle, our teams hosted a series of activities that brought together learners, residents, and partners to raise money for life-saving cancer research.

Our Barrow and Morecambe centres hosted coffee mornings, where visitors were treated to a variety of delicious homemade cakes, with tea and coffee served throughout the day. Guests could drop in at any time and join a raffle or guess the number of sweets in a jar to win prizes.

In Preston, our team organised a prize draw featuring a superb lineup of prizes, including a luxurious treat-filled hamper, shopping vouchers, and lunch vouchers for local favourite SpudBros.

At the Carlisle centre, staff and learners sold cakes to local stakeholders and businesses, spreading the word about Cancer Research UK and rallying support for the cause.

Briony Fawcett, managing director of PHX Training, said: “I’m incredibly proud of the enthusiasm and generosity shown by our teams across all the regions.

“It’s heartening to see staff and learners come together to support such an important cause, and the amount raised reflects the community spirit at the heart of PHX. Cancer Research UK carries out life-changing work, and we’re honoured to have played a small part in supporting their mission.”

The success of this initiative highlights our ongoing commitment to community engagement and social responsibility.  All the money raised will go directly to Cancer Research UK to support its mission of beating cancer through research and innovation.

PHX would like to thank everyone who donated, participated, or visited one of the events over the two days. Every contribution made a difference.
