After years of working different jobs and overcoming personal challenges, Barry, a determined learner from Lancashire, is finally pursuing the career he’s always wanted in the security industry.
Having recently completed a key series of qualifications with PHX Training, he’s now ready to take his next big step: starting his SIA (Security Industry Authority) training and beginning a new chapter in the career he’s dreamed of since childhood.
Over the years, he worked in a variety of roles to support himself, including warehouse shifts and customer service positions. Although these jobs added to his experience, the desire to work in security never left him.
With encouragement from the PHX team and a renewed determination to make a change, he decided it was finally time to focus on achieving his goal. He completed the necessary qualifications with us, and is now ready to begin formal SIA training, a crucial milestone that brings him one step closer to his dream career.
Barry said: “I’ve always felt like security was where I was meant to be. Life took me in different directions for a while, but with the support I’ve had from PHX, I’ve been able to get back on track and take the steps I need. I’m really proud of what I’ve achieved and excited for what comes next.”

With a clear focus and the right training behind him, he’s already exploring job opportunities in the security sector. This isn’t just a career change it’s a return to something he’s always known deep down was right for him.
