When Chloe Hughes first visited the PHX Training centre in Preston, she arrived with one goal in mind, to build skills that could support her future employment aspirations.
After meeting with her tutor Debbie, her first step was enrolling on the Level 1 Customer Service course. This introductory course, made up of three units, helped Chloe rediscover her strengths and build her confidence.
As the programme progressed, she demonstrated a growing ability to think critically, apply customer service principles, and recognise the importance of communication and professionalism. Her positive attitude and commitment enabled her to successfully complete the qualification.
Encouraged by her progress, Chloe then moved on to the Level 2 Business Administration course, a programme she had always been interested in. With seven units and a much greater depth of content, the course required sustained focus and resilience.
Chloe continued to persevere, showing determination even when tasks felt overwhelming. Her ability to push beyond her comfort zone, manage her mental health alongside her studies, and keep striving toward her goals showcased her true strength of character. Completing the qualification marked a major milestone in her development.
Building on her achievements, Chloe has since enrolled on the Level 2 Mental Health qualification, expanding her understanding of wellbeing and preparing herself for roles that support individuals in a variety of settings.
Debbie Lister, tutor at PHX Training, added: “Chloe has shown remarkable determination. Even on the days when things felt difficult for her, she kept pushing forward. Watching her grow in confidence has been inspiring.”
Alongside her studies, Chloe has begun taking steps toward a volunteering role with young people, an opportunity she felt ready to pursue thanks to the skills, structure, and self-belief she gained through her training.
Chloe continues to work hard on her current qualification and is exploring future pathways in support-based or customer-facing roles. Her journey so far reflects not only her capability, but also her courage, determination, and growing confidence, qualities that will continue to support her as she moves closer to her employment goals.
